Patchwerk, Healer Guide
Updated 5 months, 1 week ago for patch 3.4.1 by Preston. View the change log.
This page covers a healer-focused strategy for Patchwerk in Naxxramas in Wrath of the Lich King. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.
This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the encounter, combat log information, and Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.
General Mechanics and Abilities
- The tanks will be dealing with Hateful Strike.
- Does not hit the highest threat player. The highest threat tank will be dealing with moderate melee damage.
- It instead hits the highest current health player in melee range, preferring the second and third (only second on 10-Player) highest threat players unless a higher current health player is in range.
- Melee DPS can step in and out of the slime river to damage themselves, lower the chances they're hit.
- At 5% health, Enrages, increasing Attack Speed and Physical damage dealt.
- After 6-minutes, goes Berserk, greatly increasing physical damage dealt and attack speed, and rapidly fires Slime Bolts at all players.
Healing Notes
Quick Notes, All Difficulties
The notes below mostly pertain to progression difficulty, meaning if you out-gear the difficulty you're on or use extra healers they may not apply.
- Use Cooldowns as-needed
- to keep the tanks alive
- Pre-heal Before (mainly for heal over time classes)
- There's nothing to pre-heal before, but keeping heal over time effects active on tanks will be beneficial.
- Other things to watch for
- Try to avoid healing melee DPS so their health stays low and they avoid Hateful Strike.
- Use external defensive cooldowns on the tanks while Enrage is active.
Debuffs to Track
- There are no particular debuffs to track.
