Huntsman Altimor, Healer Guide
Updated 9 months, 1 week ago for patch 9.2.7 by Preston. View the change log.
This page covers a healer-focused strategy for Huntsman Altimor in Castle Nathria in Shadowlands. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.
This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the encounter, combat log information, and Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

Mythic Differences
- Sinseeker gains additional permanent effects as Hunting Gargons join the encounter.
- With Margore active, stand in the path to split the damage dealt from Vicious Bolt.
- With Bargast active, Pierce Soul causes each player hit to summon a Pierced Soul that must be healed to full health before it reaches Altimor and grants him Devour Soul.
- With Hecutis active, stay at least 5-yards away from other players when splitting damage to avoid extra damage from Shatter Shot.
Healing Notes
Quick Notes, All Difficulties
The notes below mostly pertain to progression difficulty, meaning if you out-gear the difficulty you're on or use extra healers they may not apply.
- Use Major Cooldowns
- on Sinseeker [occurs about every 60-seconds]
- when Crushing Stone stacks are being reduced
- Use Minor Cooldowns
- on Vicious Lunge [occurs about every 30-seconds with Margore alive]
- to heal the Ripped Soul [occurs about every 30-seconds with Bargast alive]
- Pre-heal Before (mainly for heal over time classes)
- Vicious Lunge
- Crushing Stone stacks are reduced
- Sinseeker
- Potion of Spiritual Clarity use
- most likely following a Petrifying Howl
- Other things to watch for
- There is a lot of persistent damage on this encounter that can add up quickly.
Debuffs to Track
Major
- Jagged Claws causes the tanks to need additional healing.
- Several abilities cause players to need additional healing.
Minor
- Several abilities cause players to need additional healing over time.
- (Optional) Deathly Roar causes players to need additional healing, however, all players will be affected at once so it may clutter raid frames.
