Mists of Tirna Scithe, Healer Guide

Updated 1 year, 2 months ago for patch 9.2.7 by Preston. View the change log.

This page covers healer-focused strategies for the Mists of Tirna Scithe dungeon in Shadowlands. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal and combat log information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

 Bosses

Below are guides for the bosses in Mists of Tirna Scithe, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.

Ingra Maloch Dungeon Journal Model Ingra Maloch

During this encounter, players will be alternating between two stages.

Stage One - Foul Magic

This stage begins the encounter and ends when Droman Oulfarran is "killed." The stage begins again after ~15 seconds in stage two, when Soul Shackle takes hold again.

Stage Two - Wrath of the Forest

This stage begins when Droman Oulfarran is "killed" and ends after ~15 seconds when Soul Shackle takes hold again. The stage begins again each subsequent time Droman Oulfarran is "killed."

  • Dorman Oulfarran now assists players.
    • Dorman Oulfarran
      • Droman's Wrath stuns Ingra and causes him to take additional damage.

Mistcaller Dungeon Journal Model Mistcaller

  • The tank will need to interrupt Patty Cakes.
  • Avoid the Dodge Ball paths pointing out from Mistcaller.
  • Freeze Tag spawns an Illusionary Vulpin that fixates on a random player with Freeze Tag Fixation.
    • If the the Vulpin reaches the fixated player, the player takes moderate damage and is stunned by Freezing Burst.
  • During Guessing Game, the Illusionary Clone with a sigil that doesn't fit with the others must be killed.
    • Illusionary Clone
      • Deals steadily increasing damage to all players with Penalizing Burst.
      • If the wrong Clone is killed, all players take moderate damage from Oopsie.
    • On Mythic, Mistcaller remains but is immune to damage.
    • Sigils won't be a direct match but instead have different criteria that can match one another. Players must find the odd one out, example below.
      • Sigils are created with following three criteria:
        • Shape: Leaf, Flower
        • Color: Full Color, Outline Only
        • Border: Full Border, No Border
      • For example, the four sigils could be an Outline Only Leaf with No Border, A Full Color Flower with No Border, A Full Color Leaf with No Border, and an Outline Only Leaf with Border.
        • In this example, the odd sigil out is the Outline Only Leaf with Border because all other sigils have No Border.

 Trash Mobs

Below are notes for the trash mobs in Mists of Tirna Scithe. Mists of Tirna Scithe is a relatively linear dungeon. The trash below is ordered as if you're completing the bosses in the order they're listed above.

Entrance thru Ingra Maloch

  • Tirnenn Villager
    • Don't stand in front of these to avoid Bewildering Pollen (dispel, magic).
    • Target random players with Overgrowth, dealing light damage over time before stunning them with Overgrowth.
    • Upon being defeated, grants players Refreshing Mist, restoring health and mana.
  • Drust Spiteclaw
    • Purge Dying Breath to prevent the increased damage taken debuff from being applied to players upon death.
      • If no purge is available, upon death, stay more than 5-yards away or dispel Dying Breath (magic) from affected players.
    • Stay within 10-yards to prevent them from leaping and dealing stacking moderate to heavy damage over time with Bloodletting.
  • Drust Soulcleaver
    • Apply stacks of Soul Split (dispel, magic) to the tank, greatly increasing damage taken.
  • Drust Harvester
    • Interrupt Harvest Essence to prevent the healing and light damage dealt to all players.
  • Drust Boughbreaker

Ingra Maloch thru Mistcaller

  • This section contains a puzzle similar to the Mistcaller Guessing Game which you must solve in order to progress into each subsequent room.
    • Each pedestal in a room displays a sigil when a player walks near it.
    • Players must find the sigil that doesn't fit with the others based on the same criteria noted in the Mistcaller section (Shape, Color, and Border).
    • Walking through the doorway of the correct sigil will open up the next room.
    • Walking through the wrong doorway causes an Envelopment of Mist to bring all players back to the beginning of the section.
  • Mistveil Defender
    • Don't stand in front of these to avoid Spear Flurry.
    • Soothe Enraged  to prevent the stacking increased damage dealt effect.
  • Mistveil Sharper
  • Mistveil Guardian
  • Mistveil Stalker
    • When targeted by Anima Injection (dispel, magic), move at least 10-yards away from other players.
    • Targets random players with Mistveil Tear, dealing light damage over time.
  • Mistveil Matriarch
    • The tank will be dealing with Shred Armor, increasing damage taken.
    • The tank should move it out of its Pool of Radiance to prevent the healing.
    • Don't stand in front when it turns to cast Radiant Breath. Players hit are disoriented.

Mistcaller thru Tred'ova

  • Spinemaw Staghorn
  • Spinemaw Acidgullet
    • When affected by Volatile Acid, move at least 5-yards away from other players to avoid chaining the damage dealt.
  • Spinemaw Gorger
  • Spinemaw Larva
  • Spinemaw Reaver
    • Applies stacks of Debilitating Poison (dispel, poison) to random players, dealing light damage over time and decreasing movement speed.
