Kazzara, Healer Guide
Updated 2 weeks, 6 days ago for patch 10.1 by Preston. View the change log.
This page covers a healer-focused strategy for Kazzara, the Hellforged in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible in Dragonflight. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or contact me.
This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the encounter, combat log information, and Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.
General Mechanics and Abilities
Normal and Heroic
- The tanks will be dealing with extra heavy damage from Terror Claws.
- Additionally, Terror Claws deals moderate damage over time and greatly increases damage taken from subsequent Terror Claws while the effect persists.
- About every 45-seconds, during Dread Rift:
- When affected by Dread Rift, stay more than 5-yards away from other players to avoid chaining the light damage dealt.
- Avoid the paths of Molten Scar tornadoes that emanate out from affected players.
- Avoid the Riftburn pools left behind.
- About 20-seconds after Dread Rift, when targeted by Ray of Anguish, lead the beam away from other players and avoid the Molten Scar pools left behind.
- On Heroic:
- Ray of Anguish beams must be led over Dread Rifts to be deactivated.
- If a Ray of Anguish beam is still active when another set is cast, it gains greatly increased movement speed and deals increasing moderate damage over time to all players with Relentless Torment.
- On Heroic:
- At 100% Energy, starting 30-seconds into the encounter and every 45-seconds after that, don't stand in front when she turns to cast Hellbeam.
- At 70%, 50%, and 30% health, Hellsteel Carnage deals moderate damage to all players.
- Avoid the impact locations of Hellsteel Fragment and Revenant's Blood.
- Starting at 70% health, Infernal Heart deals light damage over time to all players for the rest of the encounter, with the damage increased further at 50% and 30% health.
- Every 45-seconds, deals moderate damage and then light damage over time to all players with Wings of Extinction.
Mythic Differences
- When a Ray of Anguish beam crosses an existing Molten Scar pool, Infernal Infusion deals moderate damage to all players.

The notes below mostly pertain to progression difficulty, meaning if you out-gear the difficulty you're on or use extra healers they may not apply.
- Use Major Cooldowns on
- Wings of Extinction [occurs every 45-seconds]
- Use Minor Cooldowns
- on Hellsteel Carnage
- as-needed to deal with Infernal Heart
- Pre-heal Before (mainly for heal over time classes)
- Wings of Extinction
- or, keep heal over time effects active due to the persistent damage throughout the encounter
- Potion of Frozen Focus use
- as the damage over time effect from Wings of Extinction ends
- Other things to watch for
- Healing required increases greatly as Infernal Heart damage increases. Conserving mana early on may be necessary.
