Majordomo Executus, Healer Guide
Updated 1 year, 6 months ago for patch 1.13.6 and Season of Mastery by Preston. View the change log.
This page covers a healer-focused strategy for Majordomo Executus in Molten Core. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.
This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the encounter, logs information, and Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.
General Mechanics and Abilities
For the boss to appear, the 7 Runes of Warding near the early bosses must be extinguished using Aqual Quintessence.
- Accompanied by four Flamewaker Elites and four Flamewaker Healers.
- Flamewaker Elite
- Susceptible to crowd-control, but become immune to crowd control after four lesser enemies are killed.
- The tank will be dealing with Fire Blast.
- Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid Blast Wave.
- Interrupt Fireball to prevent the damage dealt to the tank.
- Flamewalker Healer
- Susceptible to crowd-control, but become immune to crowd control after four lesser enemies are killed.
- The tank will be dealing with Shadow Shock.
- Interrupt Shadow Bolt to prevent the damage dealt to the tank.
- Flamewaker Elite
- The tank will be dealing with Teleport, this causes a threat wipe and places the tank in the ember patch at the center of the platform.
- Shields all enemies with Aegis of Ragnaros, absorbing damage and causing damage when hit by melee.
- Shields all enemies with Damage Shield, causing damage when hit.
- Grants nearby enemies Magic Reflection, giving a chance to reflect player's spells.
Season of Mastery Differences
- Flamewaker Elite
- Become immune to crowd control after two lesser enemies are killed.
- Deals light damage to all players with Fireball Volley.
- Flamewalker Healer
- Become immune to crowd control after two lesser enemies are killed.
Resistance Levels
- Tanks:
- Holding Majordomo and Flamewalker Elites should have as much Fire Resistance as possible without sacrificing their other stats.
- Holding Flamewalker Healer should have as much Shadow Resistance as possible without sacrificing their other stats.
- Melee and Ranged/Healers generally won't make use of any additional Resistances on this encounter.
Healing Notes
The notes below mostly pertain to progression difficulty, meaning if you out-gear the difficulty you're on or use extra healers they may not apply.
- Keep the add tanks near full health so they can survive the add's instant-cast abilities.
- Be prepared to heal DPS players as most of the mechanics have a chance to deal damage to them.
- This fight will start out difficult and get easier as adds are killed. Being able to crowd-control adds makes the fight even easier.
Debuffs to Track
- There are no particular debuffs to tack.
