This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.
Best for players level 55-60.
Bosses
Below are guides for the bosses in Lower Blackrock Spire, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.
Spirestone Butcher
This is a rare enemy and may not always be present.
- Applies Mortal Strike to the tank, reducing healing received.
Healing Notes
- Be aware of enemies nearby, otherwise this isn't a difficult encounter.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Mortal Strike
Spirestone Battle Lord
This is a rare enemy and may not always be present.
- The tank will be dealing with Knock Away.
- Applies Mortal Strike to the tank, reducing healing received.
- Stay at least 5-yards away to avoid the interrupt from Shield Slam.
Healing Notes
- Be aware of enemies nearby, otherwise this isn't a difficult encounter.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Mortal Strike
- Minor: Flame Shock (dispel, magic)
Highlord Omokk
- Omokk is accompanied by two other enemies.
- The tank will be dealing with Knock Away.
- Dispel Frenzy (enrage) to remove the increased attack speed and physical damage dealt effect.
Healing Notes
- The tank will be taking significant damage through out the encounter due to Omokk's high base damage.
Debuffs to Track
- Enrages to Dispel: Frenzy
Shadow Hunter Vosh’gajin
- Accompanied by two Smolderthorn Shadow Priests.
- Interrupt Mana Burn to prevent the mana drain effect.
- Dispel Hex (magic) to remove the incapacitating effect.
- Will dispel effects from players or enemies using Dispel Magic.
- Stay at least 10-yards way from other players to avoid multiple players being affected by Hex (dispel, magic).
- Dispel Curse of Blood (curse) to remove the increased physical damage taken effect.
Healing Notes
- This encounter can be very difficult while the adds are alive, due to all the Hex effects that can be used.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Hex (dispel, magic), Hex (dispel, magic), Curse of Blood (dispel, curse)
War Master Voone
This is a multi-stage encounter, during which you'll be facing Voone's wide range of skills.
Stage One - The Thrasher
This stage begins the encounter and ends when Voone reaches 65% health.
- Deals extra damage to the tank with Thrash.
- Targets random players with Throw Axe, dealing moderate damage and stunning for 2-seconds.
Stage Two - The Brawler
This stage begins when Voone reaches 65% health and ends when he reaches 40% health.
- Applies Mortal Strike to the tank, reducing healing received.
- Hits the tank and the player closest to the tank with Cleave.
Stage Three - The War Master
This stage begins when Voone reaches 40% health and ends when he is killed.
- The tank will be dealing with Uppercut.
- Stay at least 5-yards away to avoid the interrupt from Pummel.
- Stay at least 5-yards away to avoid the stun from Snap Kick.
Healing Notes
- The tank will be taking significant damage during stage one and stage two.
- Be prepared to heal the non-tank player being hit by Cleave, likely a melee DPS.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Mortal Strike, Snap Kick
Mor Grayhoof
This boss is summoned after defeating War Master Voone using the Brazier of Beckoning/Brazier of Invocation as part of the Dungeon Set quest line.
- Shifts into different forms as his health gets lower.
- To begin the encounter, Mor is in caster form, and will shift into caster form in between each of the forms noted below.
- Deals light damage to all players and then light damage over time with Moonfire (dispel, magic).
- Interrupt Healing Touch to prevent the healing.
- Interrupt or avoid the location of Hurricane.
- At 75% health, shifts into Bear Form.
- Gains increased armor and takes reduced physical damage.
- At 50% health, shifts into Cat Form.
- Gains increased attack speed.
- The tank will be dealing with Rake, taking light damage over time.
- At 25 health, shifts into Faerie Dragon Form.
- Takes reduced magic damage.
- Interrupt Chain Lightning to prevent the chaining damage dealt.
- Deals light damage to all players with (9433) .
- Targets random players with Hibernate (dispel, magic), incapacitating them.
- Periodically gains a spell reflection aura, reflecting all incoming magic attacks.
Healing Notes
- The tank will be taking significant damage while Cat Form is active.
- You can break line of sight on the boss to attempt to avoid Hibernate (dispel, magic), only coming out to heal when needed.
Debuffs to Track
Bannok Grimaxe
This is a rare enemy and may not always be present.
- Applies Mortal Strike to the tank, reducing healing received.
Healing Notes
- Be aware of enemies nearby, otherwise this isn't a difficult encounter.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Mortal Strike
Mother Smolderweb
- Summons Spire Spiderlings through out the encounter.
- Don't stand in front of the boss to avoid Crystallize (dispel, magic).
- Dispel Mother's Milk (poison) to remove the chance of being immobilized.
Healing Notes
- As long as only the tank is affected by Crystallize, the encounter should be relatively easy.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Crystallize (dispel, magic), Mother's Milk (dispel, poison)
Crystal Fang
This is a rare enemy and may not always be present.
- Summons Spire Spiderlings through out the encounter.
Healing Notes
- Not a difficult encounter if the Spiderlings are kept under control.
Debuffs to Track
- There are no particular debuffs to track.
Urok Doomhowl
Urok is summoned by placing Omokk's Head and Roughshod Pike on the Tribute Pile.
- The encounter begins with waves of ogres, after killed about a dozen, Urok will spawn.
- Applies Rend to the tank, dealing light damage over time.
- Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid (16508) .
Healing Notes
- This is a long encounter with the ogre gauntlet at the beginning, keep an eye on your mana as you may not have a chance to drink.
Debuffs to Track
Quartermaster Zigris
- Avoid the impact location of Stun Bomb.
- Targets random players with Hooked Net, dealing light damage and possibly making the affected player unable to dodge Bombs.
Healing Notes
- The boss will use a healing potion, extending the duration of the encounter, but overall there's nothing particularly difficult to deal with.
Debuffs to Track
- There are no particular debuffs to track.
Halycon
- Accompanied by several Worg Pups.
- Deals extra damage to the tank with Thrash.
- Applies Rend to the tank.
Healing Notes
- This tank should be the only one taking damage, so the encounter shouldn't be too difficult.
Debuffs to Track
- Minor: Rend
Gizrul the Slavener
Gizrul spawns immediately after Halycon is killed and runs down the hallway towards Halycon's cave.
- Deals heavy damage to the tank with Fatal Bite.
- Dispel Infected Bite (disease) to remove the increased physical damage taken effect.
- Dispel Frenzy (enrage) to remove the increased attack speed effect.
Healing Notes
- Keep the tank near full health so they can survive Fatal Bite.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Infected Bite (dispel, disease)
- Enrages to Dispel: Frenzy
Overlord Wyrmthalak
- Hits the tank and the player closest to the tank with Cleave.
- Don't stand in front of the boss to avoid Sweeping Slam
- Reduces the attack power of nearby players with Demoralizing Shout.
- At 50% health, begins summon adds that run up from the ramp.
- These are susceptible to crowd-control.
Healing Notes
- The tank will take extra damage if the adds aren't crowd-controlled or killed, or the adds could end up attacking you due to healing aggro.
Debuffs to Track
- There are no particular debuffs to track.
Trash Mobs
Below are notes for the trash mobs in Lower Blackrock Spire. Lower Blackrock Spire has a relatively linear layout. The trash below is ordered as if you're completing the bosses in the order they're listed above.
- Throughout the dungeon, Humanoid enemies will attempt to run away in fear when at low health. Be prepared to slow and snare them.
Entrance thru Highlord Omokk
- Scarshield Acolyte
- Interrupt Heal to prevent the healing.
- Purge Renew to prevent the healing over time.
- Dispel Shadow Word: Pain to prevent the light damage over time.
- Scarshield Legionnaire
- Hits the tank and the player closest to the tank with Cleave.
- Stay at least 5-yards away to avoid the interrupt from Shield Bash.
- Scarshield Raider
- Targets random players with Hooked Net, dealing light damage and rooting them in place.
- Scarshield Sentry
- Dispel Slowing Poison (poison) to remove the decreased attack speed effect.
- Targets random players with Multi-Shot, dealing damage to the target players and those nearby.
- Scarshield Spellbinder
- Purge Resist Fire if you have a class that deals fire damage in the group (like a mage).
- Bloodaxe Evoker
- Interrupt Flamecrack or avoid the impact location.
- Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid Blast Wave
- Bloodaxe Raider
- Hits the tank and the player closest to the tank with Cleave.
- Applies Sunder Armor to the tank, reducing armor.
- Bloodaxe Summoner
- Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid Frost Nova (dispel, magic).
- Interrupt Summon to prevent the targeted player being teleported to the Summoner.
- Bloodaxe Veteran
- Bloodaxe Warmonger
- Firebrand Darkweaver
- Interrupt or dispel Mark of Flames (dispel, magic) to prevent the increased fire damage taken.
- Interrupt Shadow Bolt Volley to prevent the damage dealt to all players.
- Dispel Curse of the Firebrand (curse) to prevent the moderate damage over time.
- Will dispel effects from players or enemies using Dispel Magic.
- Firebrand Grunt
- Applies Mortal Strike to the tank, reducing healing received.
- Interrupt or dispel Mark of Flames (dispel, magic) to prevent the increased fire damage taken.
- Dispel Frenzy (enrage) to remove the the increased attack speed and increased physical damage dealt.
- Firebrand Invoker
- Interrupt or dispel Mark of Flames (dispel, magic) to prevent the increased fire damage taken.
- Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid Fire Nova.
- Avoid the impact location of Flamestrike (dispel, magic).
- Spirestone Ogre Magus
- Spirestone Reaver
- Spirestone Mystic
- Interrupt Healing Wave to prevent the healing.
- Interrupt Chain Lightning to prevent the damage dealt to several players.
- Purge Rejuvenation to prevent the healing over time.
- Scarshield Warlock
- Interrupt Scarshield Portal to prevent the portal summoning demons.
- Spirestone Battle Mage
- Interrupt Chain Lightning to prevent the damage dealt to several players.
- Purge Bloodlust to remove the increased attack speed effect.
- Spirestone Warlord
- Will dispel crowd-control effects from enemies within 10-yards with Empowered Will.
- Dispel Frenzy (enrage) to remove the the increased attack speed and increased physical damage dealt.

- Smolderthorn Mystic
- Interrupt Chain Heal to prevent the healing on nearby enemies.
- Interrupt Chain Lightning to prevent the damage dealt to several players.
- Smolderthorn Shadow Priest
- Interrupt Mana Burn to prevent the mana drain effect.
- Dispel Hex (magic) to remove the incapacitating effect.
- Will dispel effects from players or enemies using Dispel Magic.
- Smolderthorn Berserker
- Applies Mortal Strike to the tank, reducing healing received.
- Dispel Frenzy (enrage) to remove the increased attack speed and physical damage dealt effect.
- Smolderthorn Headhunter
- Applies Pierce Armor to the tank, reducing armor.
- Smolderthorn Seer
- Interrupt Healing Wave to prevent the healing.
- Dispel Shrink (curse) to remove the reduced strength and stamina effect.
- Purge Lightning Shield to prevent the damage dealt to melee attackers.
- Smolderthorn Shadow Hunter
- Targets random players with Gouge, stunning them for 4-seconds.
- Smolderthorn Witch Doctor
- Interrupt Superior Healing Ward to prevent the the healing totem from activating.
- Kill the Elemental Protection Totem to prevent the increased magic resistance effect.
- Kill the Flame Buffet Totem to prevent the damage dealt to random players.
