This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.
Best for players level 18-23.
Bosses
Below are guides for the bosses in Deadmines, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.
Rhahk'Zor
- Periodically stuns the tank with Rhahk'Zor Slam.
Healing Notes
- Be prepared to heal the tanks while they're stunned by Rhahk'Zor Slam.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Rhahk'Zor Slam
Sneed
- This is a two-stage encounter, during which players will fight Sneed's Shredder, and then Sneed himself.
- Sneed's Shredder
- Targets random players with Distracting Pain, reducing their casting speed.
- Dispel Terrify (magic), cast on random players Fearing them for 3-seconds.
- When the Shredder is killed, Sneed is ejected by Eject Sneed.
- Sneed
- Periodically Disarms the tank.
Healing Notes
- Watch for non-tank players targeted by Sneed when he's first ejected before the tank gains aggro.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Terrify (dispel, magic)
Gilnid
- Targets random players with Molten Metal, dealing moderate damage over time and slowing attack and movement speed.
Healing Notes
- Be prepared to heal players affected by Molten Metal.
Debuffs to Track
- Minor: Molten Metal
Mr. Smite
- Accompanied by two Defias Blackguards, Stealthed nearby. These should be crowd controlled or killed first.
- Periodically stuns the tank with Smite Slam.
- Deals a burst of damage to the tank with Thrash.
- Periodically stuns all players for 10-seconds with Smite Stomp.
Healing Notes
- Be sure the tank is at full health with any heal over time or external defensive abilities active before Smite Stomp.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Smite Slam
Cookie
- Afflicts nearby players with Acid Spalsh (dispel, poison), dealing moderate damage over time.
- Interrupt Cookie's Cooking to prevent the healing.
- Attempts to run away when at low health.
Healing Notes
- Be prepared to use a cooldown to help heal players after Acid Spalsh if you cannot dispel the effect.
- Be prepared for additional enemies to be aggro'd when Cookie runs away.
Debuffs to Track
- Minor: Acid Spalsh (dispel, poison)
Captain Greenskin
- Hits the tank and the player closest to the tank with Cleave.
- Targets random players with Poisoned Harpoon (dispel, poison), dealing light damage over time.
Healing Notes
- Be prepared to heal the second player being hit by Cleave, this will most likely be a melee DPS.
- Be prepared to heal or dispel players affected by Poisoned Harpoon (poison).
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Poisoned Harpoon (dispel, poison)
Edwin VanCleef
- Accompanied by two Defias Blackguards, Stealthed nearby.
- Deals a burst of damage to the tank with Thrash.
- At 50% health, summons two additional Defias Blackguards.
Healing Notes
- Be prepared for the additional damage caused by the Defias Blackguards, the tank may require significant healing while they're alive.
Debuffs to Track
- There are no particular debuffs to track.
Trash Mobs
Below are notes for the trash mobs in Deadmines. Deadmines has a relatively linear layout. The trash below is ordered as if you're completing the bosses in the order they're listed above.
Entrance thru Rhahk'zor
- Defias Evoker
- Avoid the Flamestrike fire patches.
- Dispel the tank and melee DPS affected by Frost Armor (magic).
- Interrupt Quick Flame Ward (purge, magic) or be prepared to Purge the effect from the enemy it's cast on.
- Defias Overseer
- Stun these to prevent Battle Command (purge, magic) being used or be prepared to the Purge the effect from other enemies.
Rhahk'zor thru Sneed
- This area includes Defias Evokers and Defias Overseers, detailed above.
- Defias Taskmaster
- Targets random players with Piercing Shot, reducing their armor.
- This is especially urgent when it targets the tank.
- Targets random players with Piercing Shot, reducing their armor.
- Defias Wizard
- Targets random players with Chains of Ice (dispel, magic), rooting them in place.
- Interrupt Quick Flame Ward (purge, magic) or be prepared to Purge the effect from the enemy it's cast on.
- Defias Stripminer
- Reduces the tank's armor with Pierce Armor.
- Goblin Woodcarver
Sneed thru Gilnid
- This area includes Defias Stripminer, Defias Taskmaster, and Defias Wizard, detailed above.
- Goblin Craftsman
- Deals damage to nearby players with Melt Ore.
- Goblin Engineer
- Interrupt Summon Remote-Controlled Golem to prevent the add from being summoned.
Gilnid thru Edwin VanCleef
- This area includes Defias Stripminer, Defias Taskmaster, and Defias Wizard, detailed above.
- Defias Blackguard
- Are Stealthed throughout the area.
- Defias Squallshaper
- (2138) deals heavy damage to the tank.
- Dispel Frost Armor (magic) from melee DPS to remove the reduced attack speed.
- Frost Nova (dispel, magic) roots nearby players in place.
Trash Debuffs to Track
- Major: Pierce Armor
- Minor: Frost Armor (dispel, magic), Chains of Ice (dispel, magic), Axe Toss, Frost Nova (dispel, magic)
- Enrages to Dispel: None
- Buffs to Purge: Quick Flame Ward, Battle Command
