Zek'voz, Healer Guide
Updated 4 years, 4 months ago for patch 8.1 by Preston. View the change log.
This page covers a healer-focused strategy for Zek'voz, Herald of N'zoth in Uldir. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.
This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the fight as well as Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.
General Mechanics and Abilities
Normal and Heroic
This is a multi-stage fight during which players will be fighting against Zek'voz and several of N'zoth's servants.
All Stages
- Titan Spark deals light damage to the group throughout the encounter.
- At 100% energy, avoid the Surging Darkness rings that appear around the boss. There are three "patterns" that occur randomly.
- The tanks will be dealing with Might of the Void.
Stage One - Chaos
This stage begins when Zek'voz reaches 90% health and ends when it reaches 65% health.
- When targeted by Eye Beam, move away from other players to minimize the damage form the chaining effect.
- Sets of Silithid Warrior periodically spawn.
- Target random players and apply stacks of Jagged Mandible with each attack.
- These are susceptible to all forms of crowd-control.
Stage Two - Deception
This stage begins when Zek'voz reaches 65% health and ends when it reaches 30% health.
- When affected by Roiling Deceit, move as far away from the group as possible to drop the resulting Ominous Cloud.
- If any player touches an Ominous Cloud as it moves around the room, a Guardian of Yogg-Saron will spawn.
- These attempt to cast Shadow Nova and should be killed quickly.
- If any player touches an Ominous Cloud as it moves around the room, a Guardian of Yogg-Saron will spawn.
- Three Nerubian Voidweavers periodically spawn around the back-center of the room.
- Interrupt Void Bolt to prevent the large spike of damage on random players.
- These are susceptible to all forms of crowd-control.
Stage Three - Corruption
This stage begins when Zek'voz reaches 30% health and ends when it reaches 0% health.
- [Overload] increases the frequency of Titan Spark damage.
- The impact location of Orb of Corruption should be intercepted by a player, which will then knock the Orb back into the air.
- Each player that intercepts the Orb gains Corruptor's Pact, increasing maximum health and healing and damage done for 30-seconds.
- At the end of the duration, the player is affected by Will of the Corruptor.
- On Normal, the player can be damaged to break the Charm effect.
- On Heroic, the player can be killed, and doing so causes them to release a Void Wail, fearing players within 8-yards.
- Interrupt Psionic Blast (dispel, magic) or dispel the Fear effect.
- At the end of the duration, the player is affected by Will of the Corruptor.
- Each player that intercepts the Orb gains Corruptor's Pact, increasing maximum health and healing and damage done for 30-seconds.
Mythic Differences
- Stage One and Stage Two from Heroic occur at the same time.
- Nerubian Voidweavers
- Steadily gains stacks of Void Calling.
- At 10-stacks, these become immune to crowd-control.
- Steadily gains stacks of Void Calling.
- Nerubian Voidweavers
- Stage Three occurs as normal.
