Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void, Healer Guide

Updated 4 years, 1 month ago for patch 8.1.5 by Preston. View the change log.

Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void Dungeon Journal ModelThis page covers a healer-focused strategy for Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void in the Crucible of Storms. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the encounter, logs information, and Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

General Mechanics and Abilities

Normal and Heroic

This is a multi-stage encounter during which players use the Relics of Power against Uu'nat, his minions, and the power of N'zoth.

Relics of Power

  • Some of these Relics are used to counter boss abilities or mechanics, which will be explained in the relevant sections of the boss' abilities.
  • After picking up a Relic, its effect can be activated using the Extra Action Button.
  • Void Stone (Healers)
    • Upon activating the effect:
    • When Umbral Shell is broken on the affected healer, Embrace of the Void is removed from all players and enemies.
    • Each healer can activate the Relic once every 2-minutes, due to Feedback: Void.
    • After the Relic is used and dropped on the ground, it takes 1-minute to recharge before it can be picked up again.
  • Trident of the Deep Ocean (Tanks)
    • Upon activating the effect:
      • Places a Custody of the Deep shield dome at the tank's location, redirecting 75% of all damage taken by players inside the dome to the shield.
    • When Custody of the Deep expires, Abyssal Collapse deals damage to all players based on how much absorption is remaining on the shield.
    • Each tank can activate the Relic once every 2-minutes, due to Feedback: Ocean.
    • After the Relic is used and dropped on the ground, it takes 2-minutes to recharge before it can be picked up again.
  • Tempest Caller (DPS)
    • Upon activating the effect:
      • Storm of Annihilation deals moderate damage to all players and non-boss enemies every 1-second for 15-seconds.
        • Any players or enemies that are damaged below 25% health are instantly killed by Annihilate.
          • Being killed by Annihilate prevents enemies from triggering on-death effects.
    • Each DPS can activate the Relic once every 2-minutes, due to Feedback: Storm.
    • After the Relic is used and dropped on the ground, it takes 30-seconds to recharge before it can be picked up again.

Stage One - His All-Seeing Eyes

This stage begins the encounter and ends when Uu'nat reaches 70% health.

  • Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void
    • Don't stand in front of the boss to avoid Touch of the End.
      • Additionally, this causes all Undying Guardians to focus on the affected tank, effectively forcing a tank switch.
    • Avoid the impact locations of Oblivion Tear and the void zones they leave behind.
      • Coming into contact with the Tear removes the void zone and heals Uu'nat.
        • Healers can use the Void Stone / Embrace of the Void to safely clear Tears while preventing the healing.
    • Soak the impact locations of Void Crash after it has impacted at least two times and is at its smallest.
    • Periodically calls upon the Eyes of N'zoth to harass players.
      • During Maddening Eyes of N'zoth move from the areas affected by void before it detonates.
        • This effect generally covers about 3/4 of the room, leaving a 1/4 slice that's safe to stand in.
        • Any player hit will become hostile for 8-seconds.
      • Piercing Gaze of N'zoth creates two perpendicular lines of void that move across the room.
        • Any players hit will take moderate damage over time.
        • It's important to move through one line at a time, letting the damage over time effect expire before moving through the second line.
    • At 100% Energy, Gift of N'zoth: Obscurity deals moderate damage to all players.
      • Each cast causes the void ring surrounding the room to become larger, shrinking the area you have to use during this Stage.
  • Undying Guardian
    • Periodically spawn at the edge of the room.
    • Keep these at least 10-yards away from Uu'nat to prevent the reduced damage taken from Sightless Bond.
    • Shroud of Whispers prevents these from being killed and reduces the damage they deal when at lower health.
    • Upon reaching 1 health, Unnatural Regeneration gradually heals them back to full health.
      • This effect can be prevented using Tempest Caller / Storm of Annihilation to kill them while they're below 25% health.

Stage Two - His Dutiful Servants

This stage begins when Uu'nat reaches 70% health.

  • For 20-seconds at the start of this stage, Uu'nat stands outside the void ring and is effectively immune to damage.
    • After this time, the void ring surrounding the room returns to its original size.
  • Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void
  • Primordial Mindbender
    • Interrupt Consume Essence to prevent the healing.
    • Upon death, releases several Swarming Void Spawns.
      • These trigger Void Eruption upon death, dealing moderate damage to all players.
      • These spawns can be prevented by using Tempest Caller / Storm of Annihilation to kill Primordial Mindbenders.
  • Undying Guardian

Stage Three - His Unwavering Gaze

Mythic Differences

Relics of Power

  • Unstable Resonance periodically affects all players with a Storm, Ocean, or Void mark.
    • Players must click on the Relic that corresponds to their debuff within 15-seconds to avoid triggering a fatal explosion.
    • Touching a player affected by a different debuff will also trigger a fatal explosion.

All Stages

  • Undying Guardian
    • Periodically gains a stack of Hunger for the End, increasing movement speed and damage dealt.
      • At 15-stacks, these can no longer be crowd controlled.
    • At 100% energy, Feeds on a player, dealing heavy damage and healing for part of the damage dealt.
      • It's possible this can be countered by incapacitating crowd control effects.

Stage Two - His Dutiful Servants

  • Primordial Mindbender
    • Periodically gains a stack of Hunger for the End, increasing movement speed and damage dealt.
      • At 15-stacks, these can no longer be crowd controlled or interrupted.
  • Swarming Voidspawn
    • Periodically gains a stack of Hunger for the End, increasing movement speed and damage dealt.
      • At 15-stacks, these can no longer be crowd controlled or interrupted.
    • Periodically Voidsteps to a random player's location.
