Atal'Dazar, Healer Guide

Updated 3 years, 2 months ago for patch 8.3 by Preston. View the change log.

This page covers healer-focused strategies for the Atal'Dazar dungeon. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

 Bosses

Below are guides for the bosses in Atal'Dazar, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.

Priestess Alun'za Dungeon Journal Model Priestess Alun'za

  • The tank will be dealing with Gilded Claws (dispel, purge).
  • Before Transfusion is cast, stand in a Tainted Blood pool to prevent Alun'za from healing.
  • Dispel Molten Gold (magic).
  • On Heroic, avoid the corruption orbs coming from the Golden Cauldrons at the front of the room.
  • On Heroic, a Spirit of Gold will move around to absorb pools of Tainted Blood.
    • If no pools are present, the Spirit will attack players, causing them to need additional healing.

 Mythic+ Notes

In this section you'll find notes about certain interactions bosses and trash mobs have with the Mythic+ difficulty increase or certain affixes that make them more troublesome than normal.

Rezan

  • Reanimated Raptors will apply stacks of Necrotic, which can quickly get out of control if they're not dealt with.

Yazma

  • Skewer deals significant constant damage to the tank with Tyrannical and on high level keys.

Trash Mobs

  • Gilded Priestess
  • Toxic Saurid
    • These rapidly apply stacks of Necrotic to the tank.
    • These trigger Bursting and can quickly apply 5+ stacks from one group.
