Legion World Boss Guides

This page contains quick guides for all of the World Bosses in Legion. None of the fights are particularly complicated, nor are any of the mechanics particularly deadly, but knowing how to handle everything can make things that much easier. The guides have been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the fights as well as Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

World Boss Rotation: At this time, the world boss rotation seems to be random. With Ana-mouz and Na'zak spawning independently of the normal rotation. The new world bosses on the Broken Shore also have their own random rotation. This means three world bosses could potentially be active at the same time.


Ana-mouz

Ana-mouz Dungeon Journal Model

  • Move away from the clouds created by Gaseous Breath.
    • DPS should kill the Imps that are spawned.
  • Avoid damage from erupting Fel Geyser.
  • Do not stand in front of the boss to avoid Impish Flames.
    • If you're a tank, you should be switching with other tanks anytime this ability is used.
  • Players will be randomly affected by Impish Flames.
    • It's unclear from the Dungeon Journal if these players can be dispelled, if the cast can be interrupted, or if the affected players just need to wait out the duration.

Apocron

Apocron Dungeon Journal Model

  • Avoid the impact locations of Felfire Missiles.
  • Quake deals moderate to heavy damage to everyone within 50-yards.
  • DPS and Healers, don't stand in front of the boss to avoid Sear.
    • Tanks may need to switch when this ability is used.

 


Brutallus

Brutallus Dungeon Journal Model

  • When Meteor Slash is used, stand in front of the boss to help split the damage.
  • Avoid the impact locations of Crashing Embers.
    • Players hit by these will be affected by a damage over time effect.
  •  Avoid the impact area of Rupture.

 


Calamir

Calamir Dungeon Journal Model

Calamir has three forms, Fire, Frost, and Arcane. Each form has its own abilities.

  • Fire Form
    • Healers should dispel these bombs when players are in a safe area.
  • Frost Form
    • Avoid being hit by Icy Comet and don't stand in the icy ground it leaves behind.
    • Howling Gale will inflict light damage to players while slowly pulling them towards the boss.
  • Arcane Form
    • Avoid being hit by arcane orbs from Arcanopulse. These will cause moderate damage, stun you, and teleport you in a random direction.
    • Arcane Desolation will knock all players into the air.

Drugon the Frostblood

  • Ice Hurl will deal damage to random players.
  • Avoid standing in the area of effect for Snow Crash.
  • Avoid standing in Avalanche or you will become Frozen.
  • If you are targeted by Snow Plow, run away and avoid being hit by the boss.

 


Flotsam

  • Avoid being hit by Jetsam.
  • Avoid Breaksam when possible.
  • Don't stand in front of the boss to avoid Yaksam.
    • Avoid pools of Oozing Bile from the Regurgitated Marshstompers.
    • DPS should kill the Regurgitated Marshstomper that are spawned.
  • Healers should be prepared to heal the damage from Getsam.

Humongris

Humongris Dungeon Journal Model

  • Avoid being hit by Fire Boom.
  • Avoid standing near the boss if possible to avoid Earthshake Stomp.
  • Avoid standing near other players when Ice Fist is active.
  • Healers should be prepared for the extra damage from Make the Snow.
  • Tanks need to run away when affected by You Go Bang! and another tank should take over.

Levantus

Levantus Dungeon Journal Model

  • Get a temporary water-walking buff by touching Gust of Wind clouds.
    • This will help you avoid other boss abilities later.
  • Be prepared to dodge Massive Spout as the boss slowly spins around.
  • Electrify will stun you if you do not have a water-walking buff.
  • Avoid being hit by Turbulent Vortex tornados.
  • Healers should be prepared for extra damage caused by Rending Whirl.
  • Tanks should always be in range of the boss, or she will use Rampaging Torrent.

Nithogg

Nithogg Dungeon Journal Model

  • Don't stand behind the boss to avoid Tail Lash.
  • Don't stand in front of the boss to avoid Storm Breath.
    • Tanks should switch off tanking the boss each time this ability is used.
  • When Crackling Jolt is cast, be prepared to move slightly to avoid being hit by lightning.
  • Avoid the Electrical Storm vortexes.
  • If you're affected by Lightning Rod, be prepared to run from Static Sparks.
    • If a Static Spark touches you, it will trigger Unstable Explosion, reducing your Haste and Movement Speed.

Shar'thos

Si'vash

Si'vash Dungeon Journal Model

  • Avoid the waves created by Tidal Wave.
  • Players affected by Submerge will take heavy damage until the debuff expires.
  • Si'vashi Honor Guard will periodically join the fight.
    • Don't stand in front of these to avoid Flurry.
    • Hooked Net immobilizes random players. 

 


The Soultakers

Reaver Jdorn Dungeon Journal Model

During this fight you'll be fighting against a group of Helya's raiders

  • Captain Hring
  •  Reaver Jdron
  • Soultrapper Mevra
    • If affected by Expel Soul, move at least 8-yards away from other players.
    • At 100 energy, be prepared to avoid the fissures from Soul Rend

 


Withered J'im

Withered J'im Dungeon Journal Model

  • The boss will use More... MORE MORE MORE! to create a clone of himself.
    • It doesn't seem it's worth it to attack the clones, they only serve as a soft-enrage mechanic. Eventually they just overwhelm the Tanks.
  • Avoid standing in impact zones from Nightshifted Bolts.
  • Don't stand near the Arcane Orbs created by Nightstable Energy.
  • DPS should stop attacking the boss when he uses Resonance.
    • Damaging the bulwark that's created will spawn Unstable Resonance adds that need to be killed quickly.
