Artificer Xy'mox, Healer Guide
Updated 1 month, 2 weeks ago for patch 9.2 by Preston. View the change log.
This page covers a healer-focused strategy for Artificer Xy'mox in Sepulcher of the First Ones in Shadowlands. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.
This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences with the encounter, combat log information, and Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.
General Mechanics and Abilities
Normal and Heroic
During this encounter, players will be alternating between the two stages. Stage Two occurs when Xy'mox reaches 75% and 50% health and ends when all Xy Reinforcements are killed.
Stage One - Cartel Xy
- During
Glyph of Relocation, move as far away from the affected tank as possible to reduce the damage taken.
- This causes the tank to take light damage over time and gain
Arcane Vulnerability, greatly increasing arcane damage taken.
- This causes the tank to take light damage over time and gain
- When targeted by
Dimensional Tear, move more than 6-yards away from other players to place the resulting wormhole in an advantageous location to help avoid other mechanics.
- In general, one wromhole will be placed near the edge of the area and the other near the center.
- During
Forerunner Rings, use the
Dimensional Tear wormholes to avoid the
Genesis Rings emanating from the Genesis Relic.
- A small ring is visible traveling up or down the Genesis Relic in the center of the room. If the ring travels from the top to bottom, it will emanate from the center of the room. If the ring travels from the bottom to top, it will emanate from the edges of the room.
- During
Hyperlight Sparknova, stay more than 3-yards away from other players to avoid chaining the damage over time effect.
- Avoid the locations of
Stasis Trap.
- Triggering a trap stuns the player and deals heavy damage over time until the Stasis Trap is killed.
- On Heroic,
Continuum Stasis Trap causes Stasis Traps to rearm after being triggered.

Gunship Barrage.
