Sanguine Depths, Healer Guide

Posted 3 weeks, 6 days ago for patch 9.0 by Preston.

This page covers healer-focused strategies for the Sanguine Depths dungeon in Shadowlands. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal and combat log information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

 Bosses

Below are guides for the bosses in Sanguine Depths, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.

Kryxis the Voracious Dungeon Journal Model Kryxis the Voracious

  • Various abilities, noted below, grant Kryxis stacks of Essence Surge, increasing damage dealt.
  • The tank will be dealing with Vicious Headbutt.
  • Interrupt Hungering Drain to prevent the damage dealt to all players and to prevent Essence Surge stacks.
  • At 100% Energy, Severing Smash deals light damage to all players and knocks them back, leaving behind Living Essences.
    • Run over Living Essences to prevent them being absorbed by Kryxis.
      • Running over an Essence deals light damage to the player. On Mythic, the light damage is dealt to all players.
      • Any Essence Kryxis absorbs applies a stack of Essence Surge.
  • Stand between Kryxis and the player targeted by Juggernaut Rush to split the damage dealt.

 Healing Notes

  • Keep the tank near full health and use external defense cooldowns on them as-needed so they survive Vicious Headbutt.
  • Use cooldowns as-needed to survive Juggernaut Rush.
 Debuffs to Track
 Addons
  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

Executor Tarvold Dungeon Journal Model Executor Tarvold

  • When affected by Castigate, stay at least 8-yards away from other players.
  • Coalesce Manifestation spawns a Fleeting Manifestation.
    • Fleeting Manifestation
      • Continuously deals light damage to all players with Growing Pride.
      • Upon death, avoid the Residue pool left behind. This is larger the more Energy the Manifestation had when it died.
  • On Mythic, avoid the Sintouched Anima (dispel, curse) orb that orbits the area.

 Healing Notes

  • As long as Fleeting Manifestations are kept under control healing this fight shouldn't get too out of hand.

  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

Grand Proctor Beryllia Dungeon Journal Model Grand Proctor Beryllia
