Plaguefall, Healer Guide

Updated 2 months, 1 week ago for patch 9.0 by Preston. View the change log.

This page covers healer-focused strategies for the Plaguefall dungeon in Shadowlands. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal and combat log information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

 Bosses

Below are guides for the bosses in Plaguefall, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.

Globgrog Dungeon Journal Model Globgrog

  • During Beckon Slime, all Slimy Morsels and Slimy Smorgasbords must be killed before reaching Globgrog to prevent the healing from Consume Slime.
  • Deals light damage to and knocks back all players with Plaguestomp.
    • Additionally, applies Debilitating Plague (dispel, disease) to all players, reducing movement speed and dealing light damage over time.
  • Don't stand in front of the boss when it turns to cast Slime Wave.

 Healing Notes

  • If the boss is allowed to heal, this fight can become quite long, but the healing requirement shouldn't be too high beyond that.
 Debuffs to Track
 Addons
  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

Doctor Ickus Dungeon Journal Model Doctor Ickus

  • Before engaging the boss, be sure all of the landmasses among the slime lake are clear as the boss will periodically jump to different areas, detailed below.
  • The tank will be dealing with Slime Injection (dispel, magic).
    • When dispelled, each stack of Slime Injection (dispel, magic) spawns a Slithering Ooze.

        • Stepping on an Ooze kills it while dealing light damage to the player with Bursting Ooze.
        • Must be killed before their Erupt cast finishes and deals moderate damage to all players.
  • Avoid the impact location of Slime Lunge, targeted on the player furthest from Ickus.
  • Periodically jumps to a Plague Cauldron and manifests a Plague Bomb slime that must be killed before its Virulent Explosion cast finishes and deals fatal damage to all players.
  • Pestilence Surge summons several Pestilence Slimes, and on Mythic, Congealed Slimes.
    • Pestilence Slime
      • Target random players with Viral Globs, dealing light damage.

    • On Mythic, Congealed Slime
  • If no players are in melee range, Burning Strain deals moderate damage to random players and increasing damage over time.

 Healing Notes

  • Be aware of how many stacks of Slime Injection (dispel, magic) the tank has and dispel it before they get too high to keep the resulting Slithering Oozes from getting out of control.

 Mythic+ Notes

Below are notes that pertain to high mythic+ levels and certain affixes. What constitutes a high mythic+ level will depend on your gear and group, so if you out-gear a particular mythic+ level these notes may not apply. The notes are grouped by affix but are in no particular order.

  • Tyrannical
    • Domina Venomblade
      • Brood Assassin's Assassinate will likely require cooldowns to survive.
    • Margrave Stradama
  • Fortified
    • Fungi Stormer
    • Plaguebound Devoted
      • It's even more important that the tank avoid being hit by these.
  • Sanguine
    • Fungi Stormer
    • Defender of Many Eyes
    • Ickor Bileflesh
      • Can be difficult to move due to their preference for casting spells. Be ready with interrupts and knock backs.
  • Bolstering
    • Decaying Flesh Giant

    • Ickor Bileflesh
