Halls of Atonement, Healer Guide

Updated 2 months ago for patch 9.0 by Preston. View the change log.

This page covers healer-focused strategies for Halls of Atonement dungeon in Shadowlands. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal and combat log information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

 Bosses

Below are guides for the bosses in Halls of Atonement, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.

Halkias, the Sin-Stained Goliath Dungeon Journal Model Halkias, the Sin-Stained Goliath

 Healing Notes

 Debuffs to Track
 Addons
  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

Echelon Dungeon Journal Model Echelon

  • Avoid the impact location of Blood Torrent.
  • Stone Call summons six Undying Stonefiends.
    • Undying Stonefiend
  • When targeted by Stone Shattering Leap, move near Undying Stonefiends that are in Stone Form to destroy them.
    • All players should move as far away from the epicenter as possible to reduce the damage taken.
  • At 100% Energy, applies Curse of Stone (dispel, curse) to all players, slowing them over time before stunning them with Turned to Stone (dispel, curse).

 Healing Notes

  • Use cooldowns as-needed before or during Stone Shattering Leap to keep players alive, depending on their proximity to the targeted area.
  • You'll likely want to dispel Curse of Stone (dispel, curse) from the tank to ensure the boss doesn't attack other players.

 Addons
  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

High Adjudicator Aleez Dungeon Journal Model High Adjudicator Aleez

 Healing Notes

  • Healing can get out of control if you end up lacking interrupts for Volley of Power while players are kiting their Ghastly Parishioner. Be prepared to use cooldowns as-needed.

 Addons
  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

Lord Chamberlain Dungeon Journal Model Lord Chamberlain

  • The tank will be dealing with Stigma of Pride.
  • At 70% and 40% health, performs a series of abilities.
    • First, avoid the path between Lord Chamberlain and any Sinstone Statues as Telekinetic Onslaught pulls the Statues in.
    • Second, avoid the paths directly behind Sinstone Statues as Telekinetic Repulsion pushes them away.
    • Third, stand between Lord Chamberlain and the targeted Sinstone Statue to intercept the Ritual of Woe beam to prevent the damage dealt to all players.
  • Avoid the impact location of the Sinstone Statue affected by Telekinectic Toss.
  • Don't stand in front of the boss when he turns to cast Unleashed Suffering.

 Healing Notes

  • The tank may need an external defensive cooldown while Stigma of Pride is active.

  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

 Trash Mobs

Below are notes for the trash mobs in Halls of Atonement. Halls of Atonement is a relatively linear dungeon. The trash below is ordered as if you're completing the bosses in the order they're listed above.

Entrance thru Halkias

  • The objective leading up to the first boss is to kill enough Shards of Halkias to fill Halkias' Anima bar. Locations of Shards are denoted by yellow dots on the mini map.
  • Depraved Darkblade
  • Depraved Houndmaster
    • Don't stand in front of these when they leap to a random player and cast Rapid Fire.
    • When Loyal Beasts (enrage) is cast, dispel the enrage effect from nearby Vicious Gargon.
  • Vicious Gargon
    • Apply stacks of Jagged Swipe to the tank, dealing increasing damage over time.
  • Depraved Obliterator
    • Interrupt or dispel Curse of Obliteration (curse), or when affected move at least 8-yards away from other players before the effect expires.
  • Depraved Collector
    • Interrupt Collect Sins to prevent Animated Sins from being summoned and to prevent the light damage over time dealt to the tank.
    • Dispel Siphon Life (magic) to prevent the healing from the leech effect.
  • Loyal Stoneborn
  • Shard of Halkias
    • Avoid the impact locations of Sin Quake.
    • Deals moderate damage over time to all players with Thrash.

Halkias thru Echelon

  • Stonefiend Anklebiter
    • Target random players with Ankle Bites, dealing light damage over time while periodically stunning the affected player.
  • Stoneborn Reaver
    • Dispel Stony Veins (magic) before it reaches 10-stacks to prevent the affected player from being instantly killed.
    • Interrupt or purge Turn to Stone to prevent the decreased damage taken effect on enemies within 8-yards.
      • Additionally, Turn to Stone (dispel, magic) stuns any players within 8-yards.
    • Stay at least 8-yards away to avoid Reaping Strike.
  • Stoneborn Eviscerator
    • Dispel Stony Veins (magic) before it reaches 10-stacks to prevent the affected player from being instantly killed.
    • Interrupts random player's casts with Hurl Glaive.
    • Targets random players with Eviscerating Dash, dealing light damage.
  • Stoneborn Slasher

Echelon thru Aleez

  • This area includes Depraved Houndmasters, Vicious Gargon, Depraved Obliterator, Depraved Darkblade, and Stoneborn Slashers, detailed above.

Aleez thru Lord Chamberlain

  • Tormented Soul
    • These seemed like they were bugged on the beta as they didn't move or attack at all. I'll update this if that changes.
  • Inquisitor Sigar
    • Avoid the locations of Disperse Sin pools.
    • Drains life from Tormented Souls with Dark Communion, healing himself and spawning Manifestations of Envy.
      • This cannot be interrupted so you'll likely want to kill all Tormented Souls before damaging Sigar.

 Trash Debuffs to Track

 Trash Addons

  • Useful addons will be added as they're available.

 Mythic+ Notes

Below are notes that pertain to high mythic+ levels and certain affixes. What constitutes a high mythic+ level will depend on your gear and group, so if you out-gear a particular mythic+ level these notes may not apply. The notes are grouped by affix but are in no particular order.

  • Tyrannical
    • Echelon
    • High Adjudicator Aleez
    • Lord Chamberlain
      • The tank is much more likely to need external defensive cooldowns while affected by Stigma of Pride.
  • Fortified
    • Depraved Houndmaster / Vicious Gargon
      • When a Houndmaster is present with Vicious Gargons, their Loyal Beasts (enrage) buff can be exceptionally deadly. Be ready with stuns and snares if enrage dispels are not available.
    • Shard of Halkias
      • Thrash will likely require minor cooldowns to survive.
  • Sanguine
    • Depraved Obliterator
      • Can be difficult to move due to their preference for casting spells. Be ready with interrupts and knock backs.
    • Shard of Halkias
      • Will not move while channeling Thrash.
  • Bolstering
    • I need to double check if Stonefiend Anklebiters or Tormented Souls apply stacks of Bolstering. My guess is they won't.
  • Grievous
    • Shard of Halkias
      • Can cause players to gain high stacks during Thrash.
  • Raging
    • Shard of Halkias
      • Must be dispelled quickly if channeling Thrash.
