Razorfen Kraul, Healer Guide

Updated 3 years, 9 months ago for patch 1.13 by Preston. View the change log.

This page covers healer-focused strategies for the Razorfen Kraul dungeon. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.

Best for players level 30-40.

 Bosses

Below are guides for the bosses in Razorfen Kraul, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.

Roogug Dungeon Journal Model Roogug

This is an optional boss Warriors need for their class quest Brutal Armor (H) / Fire Hardened Mail (A).

  • There aren't any particular abilities to know about.

 Healing Notes

  • This is a pretty easy encounter, just be aware of the trash mobs that patrol around the area.
 Debuffs to Track
  • There are no particular debuffs to track.

Aggem Thorncurse Dungeon Journal Model Aggem Thorncurse

  • Summons Boar Spirits throughout the encounter.

 Healing Notes

  • Be sure your group keeps the Boar Spirits under control.
 Debuffs to Track
  • There are no particular debuffs to track.

Death Speaker Jargba Dungeon Journal Model Death Speaker Jargba

  • Jargba is accompanied by two other enemies which should be crowd-controlled or killed quickly.
  • Purge Dominate Mind from the affected player.
    • If no purge is available, damage the affected player to break the effect.

 Healing Notes

  • This fight starts out difficult while the two enemies are alive, but should be easier once they're taken care of.
 Debuffs to Track

Overlord Ramtusk Dungeon Journal Model Overlord Ramtusk

  • Ramtusk is accompanied by two other enemies which should be crowd-controlled or killed quickly.
  • Increased nearby enemies physical damage dealt with Battle Shout.
  • Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid the damage from Thunder Clap (dispel, magic).

 Healing Notes

  • Targets random players with Rushing Charge, dealing moderate damage.
  • Stay at least 10-yards away during Rampage to avoid the stun and damage dealt.
  • The boss is listed as using Left for Dead, but the mechanic isn't entirely clear and I don't remember it from classic. I'll updated this when possible.

 Healing Notes

  • Be prepared to heal the melee players during Rampage as they'll likely have trouble avoiding the damage.
 Debuffs to Track

Blind Hunter Dungeon Journal Model Blind Hunter

This is a rare enemy and won't always be present.

  • The tank will be dealing with Ravage and will take significant damage from it.
  • Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid the silence effect and damage dealt from Sonic Burst (dispel, magic).

 Healing Notes

  • Dispel Sonic Burst (magic) from and caster DPS that are hit.

 Trash Mobs

Below are notes for the trash mobs in Razorfen Kraul. Razorfen Kraul has a relatively linear layout. The trash below is ordered as if you're completing the bosses in the order they're listed above.

Currently, trash information is sparse and not in order. More structure will be given as I find information or when I have the chance to run the dungeon myself when Classic is released.

  • Throughout the instance, Humanoid enemies will attempt to run away in fear when at low health. Be prepared to slow and snare them.
  • Blood of Agamaggan
  • Greater Kraul Bat
    • Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid the silence effect from Sonic Burst (dispel, magic).
  • Raging Agam'ar
    • Dispel Frenzy (enrage) when at low health.
  • Rotting Agam'ar
    • Dispel Cursed Blood (curse) to remove the reduced intellect effect.
  • Razorfen Quilguard
    • Grants additional armor to nearby enemies with Devotion Aura.
    • Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid the damage from Thunder Clap (dispel, magic).
  • Razorfen Defender
    • Stay at least 5-yards away to avoid the silence effect from Shield Bash.
  • Razorfen Groundshaker
    • Stay at least 20-yards away if possible to avoid the stun effect from Ground Tremor.
  • Razorfen Dustweaver
  • Razorfen Totemic
  • Quilguard Champion
    • Applies stacks of Sunder Armor, increasing physical damage taken.
