Siege of Boralus, Healer Guide

This page covers healer-focused strategies for the Siege of Boralus dungeon. While it's tailored for healers, other roles may also find the information useful. If you have any suggestions or feedback, you can leave a comment below or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

This guide has been updated and maintained based on my own experiences as well as Dungeon Journal information. I'll continue to update it as-needed.



 Bosses

Below are guides for the bosses in King's Rest, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.

Sergeant Bainbridge Dungeon Journal Model Sergeant Bainbridge

  • Movement speed is constantly reduced by Heavy Hitter.
  • Avoid the impact location of Cannon Barrage and the resulting 
  • When affected by Iron Gaze, lead Bainbridge over Heavy Ordnance just before they detonate or if his stacks of Boiling Rage are higher than 10.
  • The tank should stand between Bainbridge and the player targeted by Meat Hook to block it and take the Steel Tempest damage.
    • If a player other than the tank gets caught, they will likely need an external defensive cooldown to survive. They will be silenced and unable to use any of their own defensive cooldowns.
  • Throughout the encounter, Kul Tiran forces will join the fight.
    • Kul Tiran Vanguard
    • Kul Tiran Marksman

 Healing Notes

  • Watch for players affected by Meat Hook or Iron Gaze as they may need significant healing.
 Debuffs to Track
 Addons

Dread Captain Lockwood Dungeon Journal Model Dread Captain Lockwood

  • Uses Evasion to get away from players.
    • Targets random players with Gut Shot when no one is in melee range.
  • Avoid the impact location of Clear the Deck.
  • At 100% energy, Lockwood Withdraws to her ship.

 Healing Notes

  • Use Cooldowns during the Withdraw phase, especially if it's taking awhile to get out of it.
 Debuffs to Track
  • There are no particular debuffs that need to be tracked on this fight.
 Addons

DBM settings and other useful addons will be added as they're available.


Hadal Darkfathom Dungeon Journal Model Hadal Darkfathom

  • Avoid the Brine Pools left behind by Hadal's abilities.
  • Don't be in front of the boss to avoid Crashing Tide.
  • Avoid the impact locations of Break Water.
  • At 100% energy, use the Statue to avoid being hit by Tidal Surge.

 Healing Notes

  • Be aware of players caught in Tidal Surge as they'll need extra healing.
 Debuffs to Track
  • There are no particular debuffs that need to be tracked on this fight.
 Addons

DBM settings and other useful addons will be added as they're available.


Viq'goth Dungeon Journal Model Viq'goth

  • Several types of tentacles are present during the encounter.
    • Gripping Terrors
      • Kill these to free Kul Tiran Engineers so they can repair the Cannons.
    • Demolishing Terrors
      • If no players are in melee range, continuously casts Hull Cracker.
      • Don't be in front of these to avoid Slam.
    • Constricting Tentacle
      • Grabs players that have been in the water too long, dealing damage over time with Crushing Embrace.
  • When affected by Putrid Waters (dispel, magic), move away from the group so it can be safely dispelled.
  • Avoid the impact location of Call of the Deep.
  • Avoid the impact location of Eradication.
  • Use repaired Cannons to [Blast] Viq'goth.

 Healing Notes

  • Watch where players are running so you can keep everyone in range for healing.
