Restoration Druid Azerite Armor Traits

Updated 1 day, 23 hours ago for patch 8.0 by Preston. View the change log.

This page gives an overview of the Restoration Druid Heart of Azeroth and the corresponding Azerite Armor traits.

Your Heart of Azeroth is leveled up using Artifact Power and its level determines how many tiers of traits you can access on Azerite Armor in your Head, Shoulder, and Chest slot. Unlike in Legion, you only have one Heart of Azeroth and any Artifact Power you acquire is automatically applied to it, there's no need to click items in your bag or worry about which spec's item you're leveling up.

Feedback is appreciated, you can leave comments at the bottom of the page, or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

Azerite Armor Trait Layout

Azerite Armor is obtainable for the Head, Shoulder, and Chest slots. Each individual item has pre-set traits, so planning which item you need for the traits you want is easier than with relics in Legion. You can see which items to look for on the Stats and Gearing page.

Only one trait can be selected per tier per item, but having more than one of the same trait across multiple armor pieces increases the potency of that trait's effect. You can reset your traits by visiting Razzi the Shaper (A) / Nudara the Shaper (H) and paying an exponentially increasing amount of gold. The gold cost is halved every three days.

Epic-quality items use the 4-tiered ring system detailed below. Rare-quality items use a similar 3-tiered ring system and will be missing the Role tier.

Azerite Armor Trait Layout

Tier 1, Class/Zone Traits (green) - Includes one trait for each of your specializations and one generic trait based on where the item was obtained, which may have a bonus effect in a specific zone.
Tier 2, Role Traits (blue) - Includes one trait for each of the roles (Tank, Healer, or DPS), some traits may overlap and be useful for multiple roles.
Tier 3, Utility Traits (yellow) - Includes mostly defensive traits in the form of extra heals, adsorb shields, or reduced damage taken.
Tier 4, +5 Item Levels (red) - Increases the item level of the corresponding Azerite Armor by 5.

Azerite Armor Traits

Azerite Armor traits don't add a huge amount of throughput in general, especially compared to some of the Artifact Traits in Legion. Even picking the "worst" healing traits won't be terrible, however, there are definitely some traits that are better than others.
