Restoration Druid Guide

Updated 2 months ago for patch 8.3 by Preston. View the change log.

Welcome to my Restoration Druid guide! To give you a brief background on myself: I've been raiding as a Restoration Druid for over 13-years, since the days of Rank 4 Healing Touch and Decursive mashing! I enjoy Druid's heal over time centric style and their high mobility.

This guide is targeted at new and intermediate players. I will try to lay everything out in plain words while leaving the math and theories to the people that want them. Feedback is greatly appreciated! Feel free to leave comments at the bottom of any guide page, contact me, or tweet @PrestonDvorak.

Below are details about the different races Restoration Druids can be as well as how to best utilize their racial abilities. Generally speaking, you should play the race you're most excited about playing because no racial offers too significant of a benefit. However, it can still be useful to know what your options are and how to best make use of them. Read more...

Below are details on how each Restoration Druid spell functions and what its best use conditions are. Druids excel at using and buffing heal over time effects and as a result are one of the more mobile healers. While they have no problem single-target healing, they really shine in group-healing situations where multiple players are taking damage at one time. Read more...

Below you'll find details on how each Restoration Druid talent functions and what its best use conditions are. Druid talents allow you to customize your setup for any encounter, be it single-target healing, group-healing, or utility. Feedback is greatly appreciated! Healing doesn't have a rotation of spells to go through like a DPS spec does, however, there are often certain types of situations that arise where you can respond in a certain fashion. I've detailed some of the most common situations below, as well as how to heal them. In the heat of battle, you may not always be able to stick to these things exactly, but with a little practice they should become second nature. Read more...

This page gives an overview of the Restoration Druid Heart of Azeroth and the corresponding Azerite Armor traits.

Your Heart of Azeroth is leveled up using Artifact Power and its level determines how many tiers of traits you can access on Azerite Armor in your Head, Shoulder, and Chest slot. Unlike in Legion, you only have one Heart of Azeroth and any Artifact Power you acquire is automatically applied to it, there's no need to click items in your bag or worry about which spec's item you're leveling up.

This page gives an overview of corrupted gear effects beneficial to Restoration Druids and the corresponding negative effects that can be gained.

Starting in patch 8.3, most items have a chance to gain a positive effect along with an amount of corruption to offset that effect, similar to the random chance of warforging or titanforging in previous patches. The total amount of corruption on your gear accumulates and leads to more harmful and disruptive effects at higher corruption levels.

There is an endless amount of addons available for World of Warcraft, and while I encourage you to experiment with your own interface setups, I wanted to write an overview of some addons I use as a starting point. Feedback is appreciated, you can tweet @PrestonDvorak or leave a comment below. Read more...
